History of ART

We make it our hobby to draw, sculpt, read books and even dedicate our whole life to art, but we do not know what it really is.

The word “art” is derived from the Latin ars, which originally meant “skill” or “craft.” The discipline of art history developed in Europe during the colonial period (roughly the 15th to the mid-20th century). Early art historians emphasized the European tradition, celebrating its Greek and Roman origins and the ideals of academic art.

The history of art is often told as a chronology of masterpieces created during each civilization. It can thus be framed as a story of high culture, epitomized by the Wonders of the World.

Art has always been an important part of society. Ever since the beginning of time, humans have found new ways to express themselves through art. Art can be anything from a painting on the wall, to a sculpture, a photograph, a sketch or even a poem.

The most popular art today is commonly referred to as Contemporary Art. Contemporary art encompasses many styles including Modern, Abstract, Impressionism, Pop Art, Cubism, Surrealism, Fantasy, Graffiti, and Photorealism. Today’s popular mediums include painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and digital art.

At Cre8sart, we continue the history of art and develop in the new generation the importance of art and culture.
